Calluna Music is a small enterprise dedicated to producing high quality electrical bass guitars.

For some time now I have been astonished that there is so much opportunity for a guitarist to put some of his personality into his instrument, but that for bass players there is hardly any room for this. I started asking myself if bass players are really such a dull, imagination-lacking lot, and my conclusion is that this can certainly not be the case. I realized that there really was need for someone to offer truly one-off instruments to those who long for them. We set out to fulfil that need. Be it an absolutely stunning beauty crafted from the finest woods, or a fire-breathing beast that carries the scars of a hundred battles, we endeavour to create your perfect soul-mate.

I have been building guitars and basses for almost as long as I have been playing them, first doing small repairs and adjustments, then restoring some rather sorry wrecks to working order, and finally building from scratch. Until the beginning of 2008 I had just one customer - me. I have already relegated some pretty fancy instruments to ‘reserve’ status because I prefer playing the ones I built myself. Now I have decided that the time has come to do the same for some other discriminating players.
